Thursday, November 29-Jesus is the Lamb of God
Welcome to Day 4 of our Christmas Devotional study. Today we turn our hearts and minds to celebrating Jesus as the Lamb of God.
Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said to them, “Go and take for yourselves lambs according to your families, and slay the Passover lamb… and apply some of the blood that is in the basin to the lintel and the
two doorposts… and when the Lord sees the blood …He will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to smite you.”
And Abraham said, “God will provide for Himself the lamb…”
(John) saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”
I Peter 1:18-19
Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.”
He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; like a lamb that is led to slaughter, and like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, so He did not open His mouth.
I am the Lamb of God. Your sin must be dealt with before you can enter My Father’s holy presence; and because I am holy, I am the only One who can settle the matter. My blood shed at the cross covered you so that you then could also become holy in God’s sight. Accept My sacrifice, as your sacrifice… and live with Me forever.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending your Son to be the savior of the world. We have been redeemed with His "precious blood as of a lamb unblemished and spotless" (1Peter 1:19). Thank you dear Jesus, you were the ultimate and final sacrifce! May we spend the rest of our days praising Your name.
