Thankful Hearts: Relationships

Today I am thankful for……COMMUNITY

Galatians 6:2 “Help one another to carry these heavy loads, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

Meditate and journal any thoughts or phrases from the above verse.

After attending the 3rd annual Soul Sister’s retreat a couple of weekends ago I am finding myself more and more praising my Father in Heaven for my newest sweet sisters as well as those who have been in my life for many years. I have been blessed beyond measure with a sweet community of believers who have seen me through many trials and sorrows. Life can be so very hard at times. It has been during those too often journeys through the Valley of the Shadow that my community of believers, my oh so precious Soul Sisters in Katy, Texas have carried my burdens, and sometimes me, as they walked along side me on very dark pathways. It can be easy to want to isolate or hide from everyone when our life turns tragic. I have done that more times than I care to admit. That is when my sisters surround me with love, acceptance and heartfelt prayers that lead me out of the darkness and back into community with them. When I remember that everyone else goes through trials, sorrows or temptations and allow my sisters to minister to me I find my burden is lighter because of the sharing. When I am in community with my sisters I experience so much joy and release from the burdens of my heart. Supporting and loving on my Sisters as they make their journeys too, I am able to lighten their loads as well. My community of sisters give me courage and strength in times of trouble as well as praise, laughter and joy during seasons of rejoycing. They see things in me I don’t see myself which empowers me to strive towards becoming that beautiful soul they tell me I am. Community is many things but for me, community is sharing life with all of its joy, pain, sorrow and triumphs with those precious souls I call my Sisters in Christ.

Additional Schripture readings: Matthew 18:20; Hebrews 10:24-25; Acts 2:46; Colossians 3:16

Precious Father God, I want to thank you for my sweet community of Soul Sisters. Their patience, kindness and love for me is a soothing balm during times of suffering and sorrow. They have a heart for You that shines through in their ministrations to me and others they meet on the pathways of life. Thank You for providing me with Sisters who hold me accountable in my walk with You as I hold them accountable as well. Lord I praise Your Holy Name for blessing me with such an amazing community of godly women. Guide us and lead us as we grow in our love for You and Your Son our precious Savior Jesus Christ. In His most Holy name. Amen
