Let's face it, women are romantics at heart. We love a good chick flick, one that starts with a turning of the head, along with a quickened heartbeat, and then by the end, the "knight in shining armor" drops on one knee to pop the long awaited question. Ahhh, let's watch the timeless classic all over again.

On a much grander, more glorious and even more REAL scale, we have not just a knight, but a KING IN SHINING ARMOR that makes a proposal to each one of us. In our posts on Monday and Tuesday, we have seen how God is the One who both initiates His perfect love towards us and then continues to pursue us daily with this love that does not fail. Today, we come to a place where we see God "bend His knee". In reality, He did much more than this; He left His throne. He chose the cross. He died. He rose again. He faithfully persisted in each of these monumental choice-decisions all because of His immense love for YOU. No fairy tale can replicate the magnitude of God's immeasurable love. Love is not complete until it's poured out onto its recipient, and God chose you to receive His gift.

Today, how will you respond to His intimate proposal to your individual heart? Over and over and over in His word, He calls out, "Come to Me"! He promises rest; He promises life; He promises lovingkindness. His Name is Faithful and True, and He always lives up to His Name. Like a ring on the finger in a planned out marriage proposal, our Savior intentionally gives us "His Holy Spirit of promise as a pledge of our inheritance"(see Ephesians 1:13-14). His Holy Spirit is our promise "ring". WOW, what an extravagant gift! With His abiding Spirit in our hearts, He NEVER leaves and He NEVER forsakes. Will you say yes? If so, His joy is immense, and the angels shout with praise alongside Him--and this marvelous scene is better than any proposal that we could ever be entertained by on the big screen.

Hear these heartfelt words one more time from the Lover of your soul, "Come, all you who are thirsty...give ear and come to Me; hear Me, that your soul may live. I will make and everlasting covenant with you" (Isaiah 55:1,3)..."Come to Me" (Matt. 11:28)..."The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come'" (Rev. 22:17). He's has bent down, and He's waiting for your answer. Will you have Him?

Dear Creator who made me and King who chose me,

Yes! yes!! YES!!!

In Your faithful Name, Amen.
