Free to Wait (Day 1)

Read: Chapter 8 of You Are Free, Free to Wait.

As we move into this new chapter of freedom, I want to reassure you that I am learning right along with you. God clearly has a message for me, just like He does for you. Although my story may be different than yours; the truth is we all go through transition of some sort. That transition often calls for waiting. I am in the midst of waiting for how God is going to use me next with my time and talents…...Yes, for me it is waiting for the right job. I am preparing to begin again, shifting my focus from what I am leaving to what God has planned for me next.

Are you currently in a waiting phase? Maybe you are waiting for a job, healing, restoration in a relationship, or wisdom to know where you should go next. Waiting is a place you have probably been before and will be again. Let’s focus on how God wants to lead us through the “waiting” so we rest and grow in His freedom.

Today- Take some quiet time to do these three things:

  1. Highlight or journal statements that make an impact as you read.

  2. Write out any questions that you have.

  3. Pray that God will reveal areas of bondage and lead you to freedom during this week’s study.

Prayer for Soul Sisters:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We confess that waiting can be quite difficult. We worry about what we should be doing next or where we should go. We often wonder why you don’t hear us when we cry out to you. We ask, “Where are you, Lord?” Even though we ask, we know deep in our heart that you will never leave us or forsake us. You know all things happening to us today and every day. And we shall trust that all things are in your control and will be for your glory.

Let us be free knowing we are your daughters and you are always with us. Your Word tells us in Psalm 130:5 to wait on You and have hope. Let us live by these words…."I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope." Help us to remember that it is good to wait for you. Remind us that you are continuing to transform us and make us more like YOU.

May we live for you even while we wait.

In Jesus' name we pray. Amen
