Today, we will consider the questions at the end of this chapter. Take time to read back over scripture from the week and notes from the chapter when answering these questions for self discovery.
1. How would you describe home? Is it more than a place to you? What does it represent?
2. A new beginning may not mean leaving you home or you employment, although those things may be the tangible expressions of starting over. Ask God to show you the ways in which you need to reorient to Him, the ways in which you need to begin again.
3. Are there moments you've made "home" more about possessions than people? More about places than the person of Jesus? I know I have. Feel free to confess this, if you've struggled in this area. There's no condemnation here; Jesus wants to free you to see a house as a provision but people as the prize.
4. Consider praying this prayer: Jesus, teach me how to begin anew, how to care more about finding home in You. Help me see that You are my true home, and that you are always with me, no matter where I go.
Father,We thank You for this week of study learning about new beginnings You offer. We confess we put other things and people in the center of our lives ; the place that is reserved for ONLY You . "In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:6). Point out the places in our lives where we have gotten off track and please put us on the road to "Home". Thank You Dear Jesus, that You ARE our home. Amen.
